Hello Everyone, We are very sad to announce that due to the recent events of the COVID-19 affecting all schools, events, and gatherings, we have decided it is ...safest to cancel the Clay shoot for 2020. We will still be accepting donations toward the scholarship, so if you would still like to support students in agriculture, we would greatly appreciate that! These can be made in the form of checks made out to Delta Theta Sigma and sent in the mail to: Zack Bare 101 N. Patterson St. State College PA 16801 We are also putting together an online raffle that will feature this year’s clay shoot gun and a few other awesome prizes, so stay tuned for more information about that coming soon! Any questions or concerns can be sent via DM or to Shara Allman at 717-945-8471. Thank you for your continued support!

A message regarding Delta Theta Sigma and Spring Dinner Dance from Brother Paul Semmel: With all the developments regarding Covid-19/Coronavirus over the past few days this announcement comes after closely monitoring the situation and considering what is best for our alumni, actives, and guests. As you all have probably heard Penn State has suspended the semester and closed all student housing. They along with the state government have asked to limit activities with la...rge groups to decrease the chances of community spread of Coronavirus. At some point we may have been forced to cancel Spring Dinner Dance, if we are not already required by the university or state government. Cancellation of Spring Dinner Dance now allows for a prompt, orderly cancellation of hotel room reservations and other arrangements. In regards to our required Annual Meeting, the Board will determine a meeting date at the Delta Theta Sigma house sometime in the future, ultimately being controlled by the outcome and future regulations regarding this virus. Due to the timing of the spring semester at Penn State, other events being held at The Graduate, and the DTS Active Calendar already in place there will not be a re-scheduling for Spring Dinner Dance. Brother Harold Dietrich will be personally contacting everyone this weekend who RSVP'd to Spring Dinner Dance in regards to refunding the "admission" to the event. The DTS board is still working on it but it's likely that we will lose the security deposit for the event room at The Graduate, and for our DJ. At that time if you wish to help the DTS Alumni Treasury defray some of those losses or apply it as a donation elsewhere (building fund/scholarship fund), please let Brother Dietrich know at the time of contact. Those looking to cancel rooms at The Graduate in the DTS room block the contact number there is 814-231-2100. A few alumni have had success cancelling rooms there without issue. We are really sorry to have to cancel and were looking forward to a fun event. We hope that spring brings good weather for our farmers and the end of this virus that has caused so much disruption in our daily lives. Be well, be safe! Fraternally, Paul Semmel See more

It’s always great to get back to Penn State. It’s even better when I get to spend time with the future of agriculture. The members of Delta Theta Sigma have the...ir eyes on the future, and there’s good reason for that. We’re facing some serious threats. From African Swine Fever, which has China suffering, to the Spotted Lanternfly right here in Pennsylvania, there’s more than enough to keep you up at night if you let it. But there’s another side to these issues: opportunity. There’s research to be done to keep Pennsylvania agriculture safe and productive that means jobs. And what comes along with that is the satisfaction of doing good deeds for neighbors, Pennsylvania’s citizens, and folks well beyond our borders. With the incredible investments made by Governor Tom Wolf’s PA Farm Bill, that prosperous future is all that much more possible. Thank you for having me tonight, and thank you for believing in the future of agriculture.

Brother Stephen Campbell interned with the Tampa Sports Authority at Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers under certified NFL Sports Turf Man...ager Wayne Ward who started his 28th NFL season. Brother Campbell helped maintain the turf and landscape around the property of Raymond James Stadium. He also learned how to take care of hybrid Bermuda grass as well as many different Florida plants. Way to grow! #DTSSpotlightSaturday See more
