02/25/14 at 1733 Hrs. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski was on routine patrol when he observed a male at the gas station that he previously warned about riding the ATV on the roadway. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski stopped and talked to the male and told him to push the quad. The male started to push the quad when he got on the quad and took off up the roadway. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski was able to identify the male and went to the males residence. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski located the male and will be filing charges on the male for several traffic offenses in regards to the incident.
02/22/14 at 0145 Hrs. O.I.C Sgt. Saranchuk conducted a traffic stop on Lidy's Rd. Sgt. Saranchuk observed the driver of the vehicle was showing signs of intoxication. Ptlm. Dubiak from Avoca Police assisted on the traffic stop and conducted a Field Sobriety Test on the driver at which time the driver failed the testing. Sgt. Saranchuk then arrested the driver a 36 year old male from Wilkes-Barre for suspicion of DUI. Sgt. Saranchuk will be filing DUI charges and other traffic offenses related to the incident.
02/18/14 at 1922 Hrs. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski received a walk-in complaint in regards to a sexual assault. Ptlm. Kwiatkowski will be investigating this incident.
02/14/14 at 0739 Hrs. Ptlm. Kowanick received a call for a missing female. Ptlm. Kowanick received information that the female who just turned 18 was missing since 02/12/14. Ptlm. Kowanick then received all information pertaining to the female and placed her as a missing person. On 02/16/14 O.I.C Sgt. Saranchuk along with Ptlm. Kowanick followed up on the information and was notified that the female was not missing and that she had left on her own free will and flew back to her home country in India.
02/03/14 O.I.C Sgt. Saranchuk and Ptlm. Kowanick were doing a follow up in regards to a theft that had occurred on Rugg LN. both officers were able to identify the suspect and verified with the home owner that it was the correct person. Ptlm. Kowanick will be filing charges against a 37 year old male from Dupont with theft, criminal trespass and several other charges in regards to the incident.
