Due to COVID-19, the secretary of the DEF had a front porch presentation of the Sara Yorty Award to 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Tammy Boltz. Sara Yorty was a 1996 A-C graduate who went on to become a teacher at Red Lion School District for 7 years, when her life was cut short as a result of a hiking accident. In remembrance of Sara's life and dedication to her students, this award celebrates the outstanding contributions of members of the A-C faculty and staff who have gone abov...e the call of duty in their devotion to students. Mrs. Boltz was nominated by students in our school district. Some comments read: "You inspire and encourage me to work hard. I have learned so much from your class in academics and in how kind you are to people." "In 6th grade I had a lot of trouble with math and she helped me and went a little slower with me to make sure I would understand...She has helped me to be the person I am today." "Thank you for being such a good teacher. You are always there for everyone and being very patient with everyone." "Thank you so much for the positive impact you had on me! I always looked forward to the end of the day when I could go to reading class and talk to you!" Congratulations Mrs. Boltz, and thank you for all you do!!
