This project is about community. It's about nostalgia. It's about that bitter taste of almost making it. But, more importantly, it's about joy. We're just $1200 short of our goal. If you love hip hop, rhode island, social justice, or just good bleepin films, consider a donation or a share: https://donorbox.org/rhode-island-hip-hop-project-documenta

Check our feature on Belmont Academy Charter School! This was one of our favorite shoots of all time. See if you can spot Ana Gonzalez's cameo getting tackled by some of the cutest preschoolers in West Philadelphia. https://vimeo.com/214237302

Ever wonder how Earf got its name? We decided to name our production company after the way Sun Ra talks about the "planet earf" (as opposed to his home on Jupiter). Don't know who Sun Ra is? Here's a explanation from NPR: http://www.npr.org//05/22/314363/act-like-you-know-sun-ra

Hey everyone! Check out this amazing project from Sokeo Ros. He's leading three students through a trip from Providence, RI to Cambodia to uncover more about their cultural histories and dig deeper into their practices of artistic expression. "Growing up I didn't know I had a voice. Nor did I know of any choices. I thought life was as is. And that was the norm...This program, directed by Sokeo Ros, will include a trip to Cambodia for historical and family research and the ex...ploration a child's life in Cambodia compared to a child's life in the United States...The performance arts aspect of this program will help them explore their personal stories through theater, storytelling, video projection and dance; culminating in a performance that will premiere late fall of 2017." Donate and/or share if you can! And check out Sokeo's ongoing dance programs out of Everett. https://www.gofundme.com/cambodian-lullaby-a-childs-story

What will be lost when we're no longer here to tell our stories? Earf wants to highlight underrepresented stories to help stretch the narrative of people, places, and communities. Here's a still from our upcoming documentary, The Breakers, a film about the history of hip hop in Rhode Island.
