Did you know that Spring is swarm season for bees? During late spring bees reproduce and outgrow their old nest. As a result, swarms of bees will leave and hover on trees, fences, and other structures as they search for a new home. If you ever see a hive around your home, see if you can contact a local beekeeper. They may be able to help guide the bees to a safe new home.

Thinking about starting your tomatoes from seeds this year instead of buying a seedling to transplant? The germination period is crucial to get your seeds to sprout. Keep them in warm room temperatures and spray with water twice each day for the first week. Once your seedlings start to break open, place them in a spot where they'll get bright light. Keep careful watch and don't let them dry out.... As they grow, repot the seedlings in containers that can provide necessary support. And when the weather warms up and all threats of frost are gone, prepare your EarthBox and get ready to enjoy!
