November Take-Home Projects: Kids choose from an "I am Thankful Wheel" for younger kids or Cardinal Sewing Kit for older kids. (You provide your own needle & thread. We provide the rest.) Teens (grades 6-12) receive a Gratitude Jar. Pick up at Youth Services Dept. at Hughes or Pocono Township Library.

Local friend, there’s still time to drop off your mail in ballot.

The Hughes Library and the Ballot Drop Box will be open from 9 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, November 3rd. Please note that the library closes for one hour for a midday cleaning between 1 pm and 2 pm. The library is open 9 am to 5 pm on Monday, November 2nd. Looking for your polling place? There is now a ballot drop off box at the Hughes Library. This is only for completed mail ballots from Monroe County residents. If you have any questions about ...voting, please contact the Monroe County Board of Elections at: (570) 517-3165. The ballot drop box is available when the Hughes library is open: 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Saturday, with a late night until 7 pm on Thursday. We close for a midday cleaning from 1 to 2 pm. Today the Teen Services Librarian has been casting magic spells, in a wand battle with the Children’s Librarian, with her cat, and in gathering good stories in a bubbling brew of imagination.

Great Box Giveaway - As the shelves start filling with books at the new Library of the Smithfields, there are a lot of empty boxes left over. Anyone in need of boxes for packing are welcome to come get some. Please call 570-223-1881 or [email protected] to make arrangements for pickup.

In addition to the bench and cleaning an replanting the flower boxes, Eagle Scout Jacob Glavich also donated a full set of merit badge books to the library. If you know a young scout working on earning merit badges, the library now has the necessary resources.
