Easton Fire Department 06.05.2021

Back when we had a newspaper delivered the Express Times printed a daily almanac. The almanac printed tidbits of local events from 150, 100, 50 and 25 years ago that happened on that date. I collected anything to do with the Easton FD. Enjoy!

As if one structure fire wasn't enough this week the Easton Fire Co. was called again to a vacant house fire at 1043 Ferry St. The Express ran the story on Jan.... 4, 1988 with photos by Midic Castelletti. Can you recognize any of these city Heroes? These and other photos are from the Easton Library Digitized Collection of past Easton Express historical photos along with their stories. They are available @ the Easton Library for the public to see. See more

This is a copy of an original Felker photo. Felker was known for many Easton area photographs. The Easton Fire Department had an annual inspection of all the fire department apparatus and members in Centre Square. This photograph was taken during the administration of Fire Chief Louis Davison. Chief Davison led the department from 1920-1941. I do not know when they stopped the annual inspection, but it would be great to reinstate the inspection.
