Waste Management Inc. (WM) is completing its final year of the existing contract with the Township Waste Management Inc. (WM) is completing its final year of the existing contract with the Township. It has been a fine partner. However, Pennsylvania’s contracting laws require that the Township solicit bids for this service. Request for Proposal (RFP) was issued in June 2020. Bids were received and reviewed in July 2020. The Board of Supervisors awarded a new contract to BFI W...aste Services of Pennsylvania, LLC (BFI) in July of 2020, as it provided the lowest qualified bid, which the Township is obligated to accept. Please note: WM will complete its final service to Eastown on September 30, 2020 and BFI will begin providing service on October 1, 2020. The schedule for collection of both trash and recycle materials remains the same during BFI’s service as it was during WM’s service. On September 21 and September 22; BFI will deliver to each property a BFI-Recycle Tote to replace the WM-Recycle Tote. After 10/1/20; put your recycle material out in the BFI-Recycle Tote. WM will collect its WM-Recycle Tote on the last day of your regularly-scheduled pick up (Thu 9/24, Fri 9/25, Mon 9/28, or Tues 9/29). Simply put your recycle material out in the WM-Recycle Tote. WM will collect the material and the can. The goal is to have uninterrupted service. For updates and general information during this transition, please visit the Township website at www.easttown.org. Kindly call Don Curley at 610-687- 3000 ext. 114 or email him at [email protected] if you have particular questions.
