A couple of horse races have brought the first week of August Madness to an exciting conclusion. Congrats to the eight division winners who advanced into this weeks Quarter Finals. In the A Division, Graffix held off a late charging Shock Treatment to win 43-38. The Scoundrels clipped the second place Archangels 38 -27 in B Division action. In the C Division The Warriors eked out a 4 vote margin of Shock Treatment (Purple) 39 -35. The Felchers (Pink) ran away with the D Divi...sion carrying a 19 vote margin over 2nd place KungFu-Chickens 42-23. The Gorillas put on a late surge to harpoon The Moby Dicks 43 - 28 in the E Division. In F Division action The Misfits destroyed the competition doubling up both Graveyard Shift and Street Dogs (White) 36 - 18. In a slugfest in the G Division Sweet Smellin' upped Shock Treatment 50 - 42, giving the ass sniffers an 8 vote victory. And last but not least, Dekadance outpaced I.U.P.G. 37 -27 to capture the H Division. With the brackets set, all action here out will be head-to-head. Voting will be tightened. Baring major comebacks, teams leading in the remaining divisions enjoy comfortable leads. Here comes August Madness: The tournament of Echo Valley Jerseys. The field will be round-robin like a dek tournament. There will be 8 divisions in the opening round, a vote can be cast for one team in each division. The winner of each division will advance to the 'playoffs.' The playoffs will consist of head to head match ups. - The preliminary round begins August 3rd and finishes Sunday Night August 9th at 11:59 PM Eastern. - The Quarter Finals commence voting on Monda...y August 10th and last to Sunday August 16th. - The Semi's start Monday August 17th and finish August 23rd. - Finals will be begin August 24th and ends August 30th. The Champion will be August 31st. Your votes are encouraged to decide Echo Valley's best jersey. Entries are being taken until 11:59 Friday, July 31st.

The day has come to reveal the class of 2015. On the twenty-first anniversary of Echo Valley's first games, the fourth class includes players who combined have over one hundred thirty years playing experience. Also included is a new page entitled Ghost Rink, which Bryce Erb recently took what may be the last pictures of the late rink. The property is purported to recently been sold. Congratulations to the five inductees. Bask in the glory as the rest of us recognize your celebrated careers.

After three days of conversation, haggling, voting, having a tie, and determining how to break the tie, the selection committee has finalized this year's class. A total of thirteen nominations were considered and voted upon. When the tallies were tabulated there was a tie for the fifth and final spot. After hours of deliberation, in which committee members pitched their candidate an impasse was reached. A tie-breaking procedure was developed in which a run-off ballot was c...reated. The players listed below were considered but missed induction into this class. Without a doubt this class came about by an exhaustive process. Thank you to Bryce Erb and Jim Ertell for stepping up, taking the time and effort to see this round through. This year's class will be revealed on Thursday, May 21st. I'm proud to announce that Bryce Erb is now an administrator for the Echo Valley Hall of Fame sight. His addition will significantly bolster the knowledge of the rink's later years. He's also working on compiling the official Graffix history. Bryce, thanks for coming aboard to make the history of the late great rink as comprehensive as possible.
