We would like to wish everybody a safe and happy New Year! 2021
Please remember to lock your cars at night. Several vehicles were gone through overnight in the Woodlyn area. Below are pictures of the suspects taken from a residents surveillance camera.
Several social medial posts are indicating the assembly of protests and potential rioting in our community including the Eddystone shopping center. At this time, the activities mentioned in the social media posts have not occurred, however, we are fully aware, and taking the appropriate measures to ensure safety. The Police Department has increased staffing and will continue to monitor this situation during the overnight hours. If any suspicious activity is observed, please dial 911 as soon as possible.
Our entire area is seeing an increase in thefts from unlocked vehicles. Please remember to lock your doors. If anybody has camera footage over the weekend of the attempted thefts please let us know. As always dial 911 if you see any suspicious activity.

We would like to congratulate Eddystones past Fire Chief Andrew Walsh on his recent retirement. Chief Walsh has been a dedicated police and fire dispatcher for 20 years working hand and hand with the Eddystone Police Department in multiple roles. Best of luck Chief and thank you for your service!
**Update on the Sciarrinos Eddystone burglary** An 18-year-old male and a 16-year-old Juvenile male were charged with multiple counts of burglary related offenses. We want to thank the residents for their tips and camera footage to help identify the actors. They are also connected with 14 other burglaries in the Delaware County area.
Be advised, the Census Bureau field staff will be working in the neighborhood and will be knocking on doors and making contact with residents in an effort to complete their 2020 Census Questionnaire until September 30th, 2020. How to verify employment? Each temporary decennial Census employee will have an official identification card with the employees name, picture, and an expiration date. ... When in doubt, please call 911 and police will respond to verify their credentials.
