Our Commitment to Our Patients and Our Staff: Update from the Management of Edgewood Surgical Hospital and Lawrence County Surgical Center With the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and the incredible speed at which things are changing around us, we would like you to know that our primary focus will always be the safety and well-being of our patients and our staff. Things you should know: ... Continued Operations: Edgewood Surgical Hospital remains committed to serving our patients and our community. As such, we have chosen to continue performing all surgical procedures (scheduled or other). We will continue to monitor this situation daily as we maintain our rigorous attention to detail and enhanced hygienic practices for the safety concerns of our providers and patients; and will update all patients with any changes going forward. Patient and Visitor Restrictions: All visitors will be screened either prior or upon entering the premises to assess their risk of having any respiratory disease to include COVID-19. We have incorporated these procedures to ensure proper physical (or social) distancing and limiting exposure to care givers and patients. All patients and visitors will be required to answer the following questions: 1) Have you traveled domestically or internationally in the past 14 days? 2) Do you have a cough? 3) Do you have or have you had a fever in the past 14 days? 4) Are you experiencing any shortness of breath? Effective immediately, patients will be limited to 1 (one) accompanying visitor who must be 16 years or older. Exceptions may be made, and you should contact your care giver with any specific requests. As with any public health issue, Edgewood Surgical Hospital and all its affiliates will follow all guidelines and protocols issued by the CDC, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS), state and local public health departments regarding COVID-19.
