What consumers perceive having good credit vs bad credit. Most consumers have told me the difference is being approved or declined. Yes, that is correct but you to ask yourself how much is your bad credit costing you ? Let me explain. There are many reasons for advantages of having good credit. I for one value good credit because I see the non-value in poor or bad credit. For me it is about numbers and in the credit world, it is all about numbers. Numbers like your credit ...scores, monthly terms, interest rates, down payment, monthly payments, credit limits, minimum payments, debt ratio, and how many accounts you may opened or closed as they may affect your credit score, etc. That 3 digit number affects you in many ways. But having control over your credit report by paying your bills on time, having a low debt ratio, not applying for too much credit and knowing how to play the game is critical. It is called responsibility. If you are responsible, you will be rewarded. If not, damaging information will occur. The value you will receive if prioritized, is so rewarding and beneficial over a lifetime. To instill these responsibilities, you have to work at it. By leaving it alone will NOT go away(7years) and YOU are the ONLY one that can do something about it. First, like it or not, education is critical and important. What good would it be if you never learn the basics of a budget and responsibility? What about the fundamentals of knowing how credit reporting works. Should you pay off collection accounts? What are the Statute of Limitations within your state when collecting on a debt?How about a process for a pay per delete request when paying? Should you pay an account that is an old account?
