Bruce E. Steigerwalt, beloved husband, father, pop-pop, of Lizard Creek Road Lehighton, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at home while in the loving care of his wife of 31 years, Joyce J. (Craigle) Steigerwalt at 86 years of age. Born Saturday, September 8, 1934 in Andreas, Pennsylvania the son of the late Irvin, and Mabel (Hartman) Steigerwalt. Bruce was also predeceased by; grandson, Peter J. Steigerwalt; sisters, Phyllis J. Kobal, Mae Womer...; brothers Ernest, Hilbert, Curtis, Luther "Dewey" Steigerwalt. In addition to his wife Joyce, Bruce is survived by; son, Brian Steigerwalt and his wife Donna of Walnutport; daughters, Brenda A. Benner and her husband Thomas of Coplay, Annette; sisters, Janice Jech of New Ringgold, Elaine Sowers wife of Jack Costenbader of Allentown; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive Bruce. A graduate of Lehighton High School, Bruce served honorably in the United States Army during Peacetime. He drove truck for many years before retiring from True Value of Fogelsville. Upon his retirement Bruce and Joyce moved to Bradford County to pursue their love of the outdoors. Living on 30 acres, they built their dream home, hunted, fished, camped, gardened,and took in all that nature presented. While residing in Bradford County, Bruce delivered Meals on Wheel, and was a member of the Endless Mountain Woodworkers making toys for needy children. Ann M. Marcin, 84 years of age. a longtime resident of Tamaqua Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, at Hospice & Community Care Inpatient in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania. Born Saturday, April 11, 1936 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Joseph, and Rose (McHugh) Engelmann. She was also predeceased by her husband Joseph M. Marcin in 2009. Surviving are son, Joseph M. Marcin, Jr. and his wife Julie of Tamaqua; daughters, JoAnn Miller - Marc...in and her spouse Chris of Milford, DE, Bernetta VanGorden of Lancaster; grandchildren, Brienia, Joseph, Rylan, Caitlin, Allison, Zachary; great grandchildren, Avery, and Aubrey. Born Wednesday, September 4, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania son of Loretta (Geracitano) of Philadelphia, and the late George F. Kelly. Surviving are his son, Steven C. Kelly and daughters, Kristina N. Kelly and Elizabeth Grace Kelly; brothers, George Kelly and his wife, Linda; Michael Kelly and his wife, Donna; Louis Kelly and his wife, Colleen...; ex-wife and best friend, Rose Kelly; along with many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Washington High School in Philadelphia, Steven was a standout baseball and football player. Matt Walsh, 52 years of age, of Slatington, Pennsylvania and Riverview Florida, succumbed to his courageous battle against pancreatic cancer on Friday, October 16, 2020, at St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, Florida. Born Tuesday, September 10, 1968 in Baltimore, Maryland he is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Kristen, and 3 fur babies, Jack, Russ, and Parson; in-laws; John and Donna Pittman; sister-in-law, Trisha Santelli her husband Kevin and their son Qui...nn. A graduate of Woodlawn High School, Baltimore, MD, and served in the US Army, Matt was a serial entrepreneur and was President of CyLutions, Qwence, and ismartcoach. Passionate for life, Matt played Varsity Lacrosse in high school. Born Monday, December 18, 1961 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania son of the late William J. wills, and Margaret M. (Cherasaro) Wills-Rendako. Anne Baker Patterson, age 90, widow of Dr. John Edward Reese Patterson, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Williamsport, PA and was the daughter of the of the late Daniel E. Baker and Grace M. Baker of Tamaqua, PA. Anne met John, her high school sweetheart in 1946 in the 10th Grade at Tamaqua High School. They married in 1953 and were married for 66 years until his passing in 2019. After graduating from high school..., she continued her studies at the Reading Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1951. She worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, both in hospitals and nursing homes. Anne was an avid reader of murder mysteries, an accomplished knitter (donating most of her output to local charities) and a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Though she and John moved many times, they were both always proud of their Tamaqua roots and choose to be interred there. Mrs. Patterson is survived by her son, Dr. John Patterson (Gloria) of Barre, VT; her daughter, Judith Anne Patterson (Dr. Henderson Pritchard) of Sarasota, FL; her seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Nelson, Sr., beloved, husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, of 410 East Elm Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at home while in the care of his family at 60 years of age. Born Tuesday, May 31, 1960 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. the son of the late Earl Leo and Thelma (Kilbride) Nelson. He is also predeceased by; sisters, Jacqueline Binder, Anita DelVicchio; brother, Earl "Bud" Nelson. Surviving are; his wife of 3...8 years, Karen (Kane) Nelson; sons, Eric W. William D. Dunkelberger, 73 years of age, of South Second Street Lehighton, Pennsylvania took his last watch on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at home, while in the loving care of his wife Annette B. Tenisci. Born Wednesday, April 9, 1947 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the son of the late William C., and Violet (Llewellyn) Dunkelberger. He was also predeceased by his beloved Mastiff Levi. Also surviving are; son, William D. Dunkelberger, daughters, Denise Cashman and her husband, Dan,... Stephanie Barron and her husband, Dave; brothers, Kenneth J. Dunkelberger, David C. Dunkelberger; 4 grand children; mother-in-law Elizabeth A. A 1965 graduate of Tamaqua Area High School, Bill entered the United States Army in July of 1966 serving honorably in the Vietnam War, earning the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. Returning home Bill worked as an Electrical Technician for PP&L. He was a member of the Lehighton V.F.W., American Legion Post #314, and Disabled Veterans of America. Paul F. Kunkel, 89 years of age of Lake Drive Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020, at home. Born Saturday, December 27, 1930 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania the son of the late Ira and Hazel (McCurley) Kunkel. Paul was also predeceased by his siblings, Elizabeth Kunkel, Ruth Steward, Ira Kunkel, Jr., Ray Kunkel and Karl Kunkel. Paul is survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.... A 1948 graduate of Hazleton High School, Paul worked at Tung-Sol in Weatherly. Paul enlisted, and served honorably in the United States Army at Ft. Knox during the Korean War. Returning home Paul attended Penn State University earning an associates degree in Engineering. Paul then entered Bloomsburg University obtaining a BS in Education. Paul, taught in the Bridgewater New Jersey School district until retiring in 1988. Paul was a talented musician, having served as organist for the Lutheran Church of Somerville, New Jersey for many years. Paul played guitar, piano and sang with Ruth and Warren Steward for three decades. Upon retiring Paul opened a restaurant, Bed & Breakfast in Poolvillle near Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. John R. "Beaver" Witcofsky, 66 years of age, died unexpectedly at his home in Sanford, Michigan on Friday, October 9, 2020. Born in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John F. and Frances B. (Ruslavage) Witcofsky. John is survived by his brother, Bernie G. Witcofsky of Tamaqua; nieces, Andrea Witcofsky and her wife Aubrey and Shelly Ann Hamm wife of Corey; many cousins also survive John. A graduate of Marian Catholic High School, John graduated Magna Cum Laud...e from DeSale University with a BS in Chemistry. He earned his MS in Chemistry from University of New Mexico in 1980. John was a Analytical Chemist and Engineer who last worked for Savannah River Nuclear Solution as a senior scientist. John had previous tenures with the likes of Dow Corning Corporation, Air Products and Chemical, and Ametek to name a few. Professionally, he was a career-long member of the American Chemical Society with numerous publications and professional papers read at scientific conferences. His crowning work of achievement was the development of the hard disk used in the world's first commercial Gigabyte hard drive, in an age of 32 Megabyte drives. Born and raised in Tamaqua, John loved baseball and coached for the Tamaqua Community Baseball Assoc, and for the Albuquerque Thunderbird Little League. John enjoyed, bowling, fishing, golf, English darts, and fantasy football. John was married to North Texas native Etta Jean Peirce before divorcing. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the E.
