In honor of Women's History Month, E. Holdings, Inc. would like to spotlight the diverse collection of women who help make our company great. Each day we will profile one team member. Today we meet Christine Barton, Project Engineer. What do you do at E. Holdings Inc.? "I am a Project Manager in the Built Environment group. I am a registered Civil Engineer and Land Surveyor with many years of experience in land use and land development."... What led you to choose that field? "I credit my Mom with starting me down my career path. As a senior in high school I was not sure of what I wanted to pursue, so she enrolled me in Pittsburgh Technical Institute. 16-months later, I possessed an Associate Degree in Computer Graphics and was offered a job with a land surveying company. Her gamble paid off, as I quickly grew to love this field." What led you to choose work in that field at E. Holdings Inc.? "Throughout my career, I have worked for small businesses and large corporations. Big or small, the project types and tasks were the same. E. Holdings offered me the chance to expand out of land development projects and into projects involving building renovation, new building construction and construction management." One of the themes for this month’s Women’s History Month is, valiant women who would not be silenced. What does that phrase mean to you? "Being valiant is being courageous. A valiant woman who will not be silenced is a courageous woman. The courage though, is not in speaking, but in accepting the consequences of her spoken word. These consequences could be loss of life, loss of freedoms, lost relationships, or job losses. Valiant women throughout history accepted these consequences and are role models for women today and for generations to come."
