Here's a portrait of Nancy Frieze, PT standing in front of a buoyant type treadmill she uses for helping animals improve their gait in Pittsburgh. This is how it works. She has the dog climb onto the treadmill. She then closes the water tight door and fills the tank up so that the dog can walk in a weight lessened environment. This promotes a more normalized gait pattern with less restriction on range of motion of an injured limb. This helps speed up the recovery process post surgery or injury.
