Twice a year, The Portrait Masters opens their call for entries into the International Portrait Masters Competition. Images are judged by some of the industry’s top professionals, and there is a chance to earn merits towards your accreditation. This year I entered a single image where I had implemented a new lighting technique I learned earlier in the year using new equipment, and was honored to earn a Bronze Merit with High Professional Standards for this portrait I made of Grayson. Being open to judging and critique is never easy, but I’m glad I stepped out of my comfort zone this year, and officially earned my first merit award! Can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store and thankful for another of creating. Happy New Year!
