Yesterday, Feb 3, EFD arrived to find a working house fire on East Berger St. With the assistance of our Mutual Aid partners this blaze was brought under control in under 16 minutes.
Just a quick, huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to the Emmaus Ambulance Corp and Emmaus Fire Dept! Our newest addition, Wes, decided to come early in the middle of the... blizzard yesterday. They arrived within minutes in two feet of snow and with plenty to help! Between our incredible neighbors and our first responders, we made it in time to the hospital and everyone’s safe and healthy. All of these pictures are within an hour and 45 minutes, quite the whirlwind! Cannot express our thanks enough!! See more
The morning after snow-mageddon. Only 22 they say.
Update on Plowing: What a storm! With well over 20 inches of snow, we it's pretty obvious to say there are some challenges. Our crews have been out for 36 st...raight hours trying to keep the streets open. We are having some significant issues on the side streets and alleyways, as the snow is too deep for most of our trucks, thus causing removal delays. We will need to plow most of those streets with our backhoes and front end loaders, therefore, we might not get to the alley or side street behind your house until later today into this evening. Most of the main roads are getting better, however, a few of our streets have had some heavy drifting, so we have to change the approach from a traditional plow truck to heavier equipment to remove the snow, again causing some delays. Please be safe out there while you are clearing your vehicles and your sidewalks. If you see a struggling neighbor and you are able to help them, please do so. By the way, rumor has it that a certain groundhog saw his shadow this morning.
Kids bored, lets play a game...SCAVENGER HUNT. Can you find your neighborhood Fire Hydrant? Once you find it shovel it out so we can find it also. Thank You.
