Dear Valued Patients, I hope this letter finds you and your loved ones safe and healthy. I wanted to provide you an update to my previous email. While I was hoping to be able to reopen, the office on March 30, 2020, this will not be the case.... Due to mandates issued by the PA State Department of Health for all dental providers, we are not allowed to open the office to see any patients for any reason at this time due to the lack of proper PPE (personal protective equipment). Additionally, Governor Wolf has also forbade all non-emergent dental services as this time. We have reached out to those of you with appointments through April 10, 2020 to cancel these appointments. When we are able to safely reopen for our patients and our staff, we will be back in touch. If you are suffering from a dental emergency, I will be available to assist you via tele-dentistry only at this time. To our wonderful patients, Our highest priority at Enduring Smiles is the safety, health, and wellbeing of our patients. Based on assessment of all available information and in order to follow the recent CDC and Gov. Wolf’s recommendations, we are sadly closing the office, effective immediately, for the next two weeks. We hope to reopen March 30th, but will continue to re-evaluate as more information comes out. Due to the novel nature of the COVID-19 Virus, much remains u...nknown as to its exact route of transmission. The dental procedures we perform on a daily basis put us at the highest risk for transmission due to the aerosols that are generated. We deeply care for the health of our patients, as well as the health of our team members, and are making this difficult decision out of an abundance of caution. During a pandemic, everyone must do their individual part in controlling the spread and individual actions make a big difference. We hope that as difficult as it may be, everyone find their way to fight this virus by protecting each other as well as everyone else. Dr Wertheimer was honored to receive the Fellowship Award in the Academy of General Dentistry this past weekend. Fellows are recognized as leaders in the field (requiring over 500 hrs of continued education and passing an exam). Less than 7% of all dentists achieve this distinction.
