This has been a challenging year for some of our members to take off-site and hands-on training classes due to many being cancelled because of COVID-19. However, a few were able to continue and finish with on-line classes and obtain certifications. Congratulations to Asst. Chief Kris Macauley for successfully receiving his Certification in Plans Examiner 1 and 2. And, also to Captain Jamie Rohrer for successfully receiving his Certification in Fire Inspector 2. To all the members of Station 23, keep up the good work with striving to continue your fire service education.

On behalf of the members of the East Petersburg Fire Company, it has been our pleasure to bring smiles to the faces and a little joy into the hearts of those who have experienced a birthday or special event during this time of quarantine. We have tried our best to accommodate the dates and times for all those that have contacted us for the special recognition by way of a parade of fire apparatus followed by car loads of well-wishers. As Lancaster County has entered the "Green..." phase for COVID-19 restrictions, families will once again be able to enjoy more traditional events. Events already on our schedule will be honored so that we don't disappoint anyone that is already counting on the fire apparatus being in attendance. No additional "Drive By" events will be scheduled after June 30th, 2020. We are honored to serve all the citizens in East Petersburg Borough and East Hempfield Township. Thank you for including us in your special events! The runs were as much a blessing to our firefighters and staff as we hope it was to each of you! Thank you from the leaders of EPFC.

To our citizens and visitors we serve: We have been notified of Facebook postings by an individual that is associated with our fire department, which is extremely upsetting with what we represent and offer to our communities. Many of us have grown up in our community or have moved here many years ago with our families and take these comments to heart as we continue to provide fire and rescue services to our citizens and visitors. Many of you know us, and our families, and you... must understand that these comments do not represent who we are as individuals or our fire company. The East Petersburg Fire Company is in it's 110th year of providing fire and rescue services to our communities and without hesitation, we WILL provide our services to each and everyone that requires it. The fire company will be handling the situation and moving forward as the respected and reputable organization we are known as to the communities we serve. Thank you President G. Carpenter Fire Chief D. Schoenberger
