He harvests... I cook. We make a great team. This is a ramen made with ground venison from a successful bow season. Ground venison, mushrooms, red and yellow peppers, purple cabbage, jalapeños, garlic, ginger, in chicken broth, All over top of jade pearl ramen. Then garnished with cayenne and sesame oil, green onions, and lime juice. So very warming and yummy!!#fieldtotable #buildhealth #eatrealfood #justyum #cookingwildgame
My set up for making lunch today... ... I have worked with @lehighwrestling for five years now. I still have so much to learn about the competitive side this sport scoring, styles, tournaments, brackets...But what I do know with certainty is that I have gotten to know some amazing people working in this sport. Wishing @dariantoicruz @bigwood50 @fvp_iv the very best of luck today. Have fun...and get after it!!! #USAwrestling #wrestling
We have had so much fun visiting some unique places lately!! This salad is a perfect reflection of all of those visits...the beautiful delicate mixed greens are from Pocono Organics. This is such a cool place to visit. Their cafe has an amazing menu designed by an award winning chef and they grow tons of organic produce...you NEED to check them out!! The roasted beets on this salad are from our local family run farm stand on Sullivan Trail. I roasted them at home in some EVOO from seasons. All of that goodness is added to a salad with pistachios, red onions, apples, and goat cheese. Dressed in a pomegranate quince white balsamic and pistachio oil from my favorite foodie happy place Seasons Olive Oil & Vinegar Taproom just so much YUMMY!!! #eatlocal #farmtotable #buildhealth #eatrealfood #justyum
We had lunch today in Downtown Bethlehem made a quick stop at my foodie happy place @seasonsbethlehem to restock our cabinets. I love to cook and he loves to eat. He buys the stuff and I make the things. So happy to have my favorites back in stock!! #eatrealfood #buildhealth #justyum #organized
Quick skillet with Nilgai back strap peppers, squash, tomatoes, spinach, onions, and garlic. After this was taken I added a little red wine and reduced it. Simple, fast, healthy, and delish!! #fieldtotable #fieldtofork #eatrealfood #buildhealth #justyum
I have been using time restricted eating for some time now. With pretty good success. One of the keys to using this pattern of eating is knowing when it is best not to use it. It is beautiful outside and John and I are heading out on our bikes. We will probably be out for close to 2 hours. Could I do that fasted... sure. But I don’t like to train fasted for more than an hour on the bike or 30-40 minutes if it is a run. All fasted training for me is done at a lower intensity. ...2 hours in the saddle fasted can be done but I never feel well doing it. The last 30 minutes is a struggle fest. I don’t have specific training goals nor am I trying to create adaptive stressors. I just want to enjoy the morning with John. So no fasted training for me this morning. I am breaking my fast early with this banana mango protein smoothie. Keeping my carb to protein ratio 1:1 to maintain metabolic efficiency. #buildhealth #performancenutrition #beautifulday #timerestrictedeating #fastedtraining #intermittenfasting See more
My little man asked me to make green chili chicken for dinner tonight. He built a giant burrito but I made John and I a taco salad with the chicken. I built the salad on a nice bed of crisp organic romaine, beautiful fresh tomatoes from my neighbors garden, avocado, and I topped them with a little organic sour cream and my favorite salsa from @traderjoes So simple...and refreshing. #eatrealfood #buildhealth #ilovesalad
Inspired by the crisp fall air and the generous offer of some fresh Thai Basil from my neighbor Mary Kay....my first ramen of soup season. I made this one from Nilgai harvested by my guy in Texas, mushrooms, red peppers, jalapeños (also from Mary Kay’s garden), a mix of chicken and beef broth (keeps the broth lighter), served over ramen noodles, garnished with green onions, lime juice, sesame oil, and cayenne oil from @seasonsbethlehem . It was a hit!! In fact we finished a while ago and he keeps saying boy dinner was good. #heisafoodietoo #buildhealth #soup #soupseason #cookingwildgame #mykitchenmyhappyplace @seasons_olive_oil
The world of sport lost a pillar today. Lute was a shining example of humble strength. He made all of us so proud to be Wildcats. Thank you for your example and for sharing yourself with Arizona. You left a legacy to be proud of. RIP Lute #BearDownArizona
Thanks to the power of Zoom I got to spend some quality time earlier this month with these amazing young female wrestlers! I had so much fun giving them some new nutrition tools for their performance nutrition toolbox. I am LOVING the opportunity to support this next wave of athletes in this sport. Girl Power!!! Thank you so much Monica Allen for beaming me to your camp for the afternoon! Get after it ladies!!
