Evergreen After School Club

Thank you to our Evergreen families who attended our last Family Education Night on Learning Together From Home. The presenter offered some great ideas on various educational websites and ways to incorporate educational activities into you day-to-day routine. Congratulations to the Lydick Family who won our $25 Sheetz gift card. Our next Family Education Night will be held next Thursday, April 8 from 6-7pm. Please join us for STEM Beyond the Classroom. STEM (Science, Technol...ogy, Engineering, Math) is a major component of our daily educational activities in our school year and summer curriculum. During this session, our presenter will explain important STEM concepts and how they apply to students’ learning, offer online STEM resources to check out, and show how families can support their kids’ STEM learning at home. As the popularity of STEM increases both in education and the workforce, families can help prepare their kids for the future. Students are encouraged to attend with their grown-ups. ATTENTION UNITED SCHOOL DISTRICT CLUB PARENTS, GUARDIANS, CAREGIVERS: Evergreen After School Club considers the health and well-being of our Club members and staff to be of the utmost importance. It is with that in mind that I am sharing the following information. ... Late last evening, 4/2/21, I was alerted that a staff member at our United Elementary School site has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID 19). The staff member, as well as any other Evergreen staff member that may have come in contact with the individual is currently under quarantine. Effective immediately, Evergreen After School Club will suspend all face to face operations within the United School District. Before and after school programming will resume on Monday April 19, 2021. For now, I am asking you to monitor your child’s/children’s health carefully during the next few days. If they experience symptoms of COVID-19, we ask that you contact your family physician, Urgent Care facility, closest emergency room or health care provider for additional information. Symptoms may include flu-like conditions such as sore throat, headache, body aches, and shortness of breath or a dry cough and fever. Good morning Everyone: We have some AMAZING pictures for you today!! Here are some pictures of the PLES club members. The lesson was on scrapes and scabs. The club members learned about how special effects and make up artists create fake boo boos and costumes for actors/actresses in movies. The club members got to create their own special effects using materials provided in the Grossology curriculum.... Wow. That looks like so much fun!!
