We should not panic, nor should we be anxious right now. We should have a balanced and thoughtful approach to what is happening with the coronavirus. Here is a good video and news report from NBC News featuring Dr. Jerome Adams, the U.S. Surgeon General on the importance of mitigation measures to slow the spread of coronavirus. https://www.nbcnews.com//surgeon-general-has-coronavirus-w

In response to the continuing increase of coronavirus cases reported in the United States, and specifically in Pennsylvania and Cumberland county, I have carefully considered the best course of action to take with regard to this practice. In light of Gov. Wolf’s recent shutdown announcement I have decided to close the office for this coming week (March 23 through the 28th). Knowing when I will have the office up and running again is difficult to say, since it seems that th...e situation changes on a daily basis. I continue to monitor the news, as well as to consult other professionals to inform my decisions. Much depends also on the decisions of both the state and federal governments and how they decide to regulate this situation. I am in the process of developing an alternative way to continue care for my current clients. Since mental health care is a highly regulated field, this process has challenges. I am a pre-licensed professional marriage and family therapist. The licensing process is a multi-year process, which I am in the midst of currently. Only licensed therapists are currently allowed to use teletherapy. I am in dialogue with officials to seek a provision for pre-licensed therapists to use such platforms during this time. Please know that I take seriously the care of clients, and I am working to provide a way to connect remotely. Also, please remember that Evergreen & Bridges Counseling is not an emergency mental health or crisis center. If you find yourself in a mental health emergency or crisis situation, please call 911 or your county crisis center (Cumberland County: 866-350-4357, Camp Hill area: 717-763-2222, Carlisle area: 717-243-6005, York County: 800-673-2496, Dauphin County: 717-232-7511). Please continue to check this page as well as www.evergreenandbridges.com to see continuing updates and communications. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time.
