What started out to be a minor repair on a tailgate turned into a major repair. It looked like only a few small rust holes on the bottom. But under 1/2" of body filler was more rust, dents and holes from a dent puller.The bottom was actually brazed on from a repair at some point in it's past and rusted out again. Basically it was trashed but i was able to save the Dodge letters and end caps. I spliced the Dodge letters into a new sheet of 16 gauge and made a new skin. The result is a nice rust free tailgate. It was a lot of extra work and took a lot more time than planned but sometimes thats what it takes to do the job right.

Picking up some stuff for the garage project today. Dodge trucks never get to old to work!
