Verse of the Day for Monday, December 7 God never made a promise that was too good to be true! The verse for today is Jesus response to a lawyer, Luke 10:25&27... In verse 25 a lawyer tempting Jesus asked Him, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? So He answered and said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself." Chaplain Gene's comments: It is impossible to for sinful man to love God with all his heart, and his neighbor as himself. We cannot love someone we don’t know, so knowing Him (Jesus) should be our first priority. (The lawyer didn't know Jesus.) As believers in Jesus Christ, we have been cleansed from sin and we have the Holy Spirit; through His power we can do the impossible, to love with all our heart and to share His gift of love with others. ~ Chaplain Gene

Verse of the Day for Friday, December 4 May God bless you with a wonderful day! The verses for today are from Philippians 2:8 to 10... And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth. Comments from Chaplain Gene: Think about what it meant for Jesus to leave the glories of heaven for you and me. Not only was He willing to leave the glory of heaven, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death (to die on the cross)! God exalted Christ by raising Him from the dead and gave Him the name which is above every name. God was so completely satisfied with the redemptive work of Christ that He determined that every knee should bow to Him. ~ Chaplain Gene
