We’re thinking back to what the last year has been like - it has been full of challenges, adversity, strength, and a community coming together while still being physically apart. Here’s just a few of things the Fairview School Foundation was able to accomplish in 2020: $3,850 raised and over 140 meals delivered to needy families within the Fairview School District (Fairview, PA) to aid proper nutrition. 31 scholarships worth $21,550 given to Fairview High School seniors... for continuing education expenses. $10,770 in grants to expand learning and fund teacher requested projects in the classroom to enrich learning in our classrooms. $7,420 in funds were given to support our more vulnerable students through our Student Support Fund. This money was used to purchase clothing, shoes, hygiene products, meals and more. This crucial fund provides immediate relief for students and families facing hardships. 141 Kindergarten Readiness Kits were distributed to every incoming Kindergartener to ensure they get the very best preparations right from the start. We do this to enrich our schools, our classrooms, our kids, our community, and our future. And, we can only accomplish so much because of your help. Another sad time for Fairview’s beloved Murphey family. Not even three months after her husband’s passing, Rosemary Murphey died on Thursday, March 4th. She was an amazing woman who loved teaching, singing, and Pirates baseball. However, her greatest joy was the family she created with her loving husband. You can read more about Rosemary in the article below. We are honored once again that the family has chosen memorials be made to the Murphey Family Scholarship at the Fairview School Foundation.

There are no words to express the shock and sadness. David Chivers and his family have strong roots in the Fairview community and have been great supporters over the years. His untimely death will undoubtedly leave a hole in the hearts of his family, friends, his business, and the community. Like he did, we are reminded to live life to the fullest and create joy in our corner of the world. We are humbled that the family has granted memorials be made to the Fairview School Foundation.
