This month’s in-service training highlighted the communities role in supporting and contributing to Police K-9 training. Patrol day was spent at Kirby Park tra...cking and conducting article searches. This provided realistic environmental challenges to include wild animals, pet dogs, pedestrians crossing the tracks, and sights, sounds, and smells the dogs are likely to encounter in their work day. Today was detection day. Where should we begin. First, a huge thank you to the Falzone's Service Center and Falzone's Towing for accommodating not only the in-service training group but also the Penn Vet Working Dog Center detection class, of which K-9 Officer Homza is assistant trainer. Falzone’s graciously opened their yard and property to us which exposed the dogs to a variety of different vehicles, even a tractor trailer full of dog food! Talk about a distraction! Last but not least, our sincere appreciation to Don and Joyce Conyingham, two Police and K-9 supporters who so graciously catered our amazing MISSION BBQ lunch! We were more than happy to introduce the Conyingham’s to the puppy’s in training from PennVet as well as our current working dogs, and they loved the show! Candidates should have demonstrated experience in all areas of Diesel mechanics, be a team player and be committed to providing excellent quality service. Must have your own tools. Ideal candidate will have a Class A or B CDL and must be willing to work both in our shops and handle road services to our customers. PA... Class 8 Inspection license a plus. Day and night positions available. May be asked to work weekends on occasion. Hiring for multiple positions. Falzone’s offers competitive compensation.
