FAT TIRE Challenge

Thank you for making the FAT TIRE Challenge Mt Bike Race such a great event over the past decade and a half. We have enjoyed hosting you to our neck of the woods. It’s with a heavy heart that we will no longer be putting on the race. All future FAT TIRE Challenge Races are officially cancelled. It has been a pleasure building trails on this remote land and encouraging riders to come and enjoy the woods we have as our backyard. We have especially enjoyed becoming friends with... all of you, and truthfully, not hosting an event every Fathers’ Day weekend will leave a void in our calendar and our hearts. Hosting a race with minimal staff is a lot of work: trail maintenance, finding volunteer help, managing subcontractors, recruiting sponsorships, event promotion, increasing insurance and permitting requirements and rising costs have been contributors to this decision. We encourage you to continue riding the old course...it’s open year around. We designed FTC knowing that pedaling miles of singletrack and having a post-ride social at the Laurel Fields was the best part of our day. The FTC race witnessed 15 trips around the sun - as we prepare for the final sunsets of 2020, let us be thankful for the wealth of opportunities we have to mountain bike here in the PA Wilds.
