For many in our community, Thanksgiving marks the beginning of a long, difficult holiday season ahead. Many of us are anxious, mourning, and isolated, longing f...or a very different year than the one we had. Each weekday, beginning today and through Christmas Day, Racial Justice Ministries at Scarritt Bennett Center will share a video from our latest series, "A Balm in Gilead: Grief Litanies for the Holidays." A Balm in Gilead is a seed of hope. Through a series of prayerful moments, faith leaders across the country offer words of encouragement for those struggling during this holiday season. After an unprecedented year, bringing multiple challenges for so many of us, people of faith must cling to hope even in the midst of our struggles. Sometimes, we simply need a reminder that God is present. A Balm in Gilead is that reminder. Our first litany is "A Litany For the Grief of Isolation," by Rev. Teresa "Terri" Hord Owens, General Minister and President of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
