On October 31, the eve of the Western Christian feast of All Hallows' Day, Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising and souling!), costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o'-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories, and watching horror films. What are your plans for Halloween this year?

Even though the United States is home to Alaska, it still has its own unique feel. If you catch it at the right time, the famous Northern Lights can be seen in Fairbanks 243 days a year. Also, a whole 5% of Alaska is covered by glaciers which total to around 100,000. With its beautiful landscapes and amazing sites, it would make the perfect adventure-filled trip. @patrickthunphot

These figures look familiar, right? That's because they are the 'Moai' statues of Easter Island. From the 10th all the way to the 16th century, the historic Rapa Nui society erected these statues. Roughly 900 exist. It's no surprise that so many people recognize and visit these ancient wonders. #EasterIsland #Rapanui #moai #artifacts

Yesterday was United Nations Day. It is meant to bring about awareness of the incredible things this organization does, such as supplying food, fighting poverty, and promoting human rights, to just name a few. Kjøttkaker may not seem easy to recognize but is, in fact, a favorite dish throughout Norway. So what is it? Minced meat is seasoned and kneaded with a variety of ingredients, such as onions or rusk before it is formed into small cakes and pan-fried. These are then simmered in gravy and served with either mashed peas or creamed cabbage. Sounds delicious!
