Honoring the Veterans in Your Life On Veterans Day we traditionally honor those who have served. Your relative may be a veteran. Or he or she may have been close to veterans who are now gone. This is especially true of those who were in combat. But veterans' memories are precious history. And they are worthy of national commemoration! The project collects veterans' personal stories and makes them available online so anyone can partake. The Veterans History Project invites every war veteran to contribute his or her memories. The Veterans History Project collects war history information in the form of: audio- and video-taped interviews written documents (memoirs, letters, postcards, and diaries) visual materials (photographs and drawings) If you would like to help a vet contribute his or her memories, check the project's website for guidance. This opportunity may motivate your family member to speak of life experiences you have never heard before. These can be tender and very intimate conversations to share. Success -- $3,500 Recovered for Philadelphia Area Member Attorney Laura Devine recently helped a member with a frustrating car warranty issue. The member's car had a defective part and she made a claim within the warranty period. The part needed was on back order -- for a year! Once the part eventually came in, neither the dealership or the car manufacturer wanted to cover the cost of the repairs. The reason for their denial was that the warranty had since expired while t...he member was waiting for the part on back order. Unbelievable! After getting nowhere on her own, our member called us. Attorney Devine wrote a letter on her behalf to the manufacturer demanding that they honor their warranty and cover the repairs.
