Debra Forry, on behalf of the residents of Willow Terrace, presented FASP with a $300 check today from the Willow Terrace Resident Sunshine Fund! They wanted to thank all the FASP responders for the care they provide to the residents every day. It is our honor, and our pleasure, to provide exceptional care to our community. Thank you Debra and all the residents at Willow Terrace!

In addition to continuing education requirements, our EMTs and Paramedics must complete an annual skill review. Happy Thanksgiving! Pictured is Battalion Chief Greg Stauffer, Lieutenant Steve Zimmerman, and EMT Lacey Mcquire making our squad look great for the next response...which came two minutes later for a call on the 500 block of Bollman Street in the city for an unconscious person. We are on duty Thanksgiving day and every other day 24x7x365 serving our community!

This morning a FASP unit participated in the drive-thru event at the Lebanon Valley Exposition Center & Fairgrounds to honor our veterans. To all those who have served, and those who continue to serve, Happy Veterans Day!

It’s official! This morning at 08:00 First Aid And Safety Patrol placed a MICU (Paramedic Ambulance) in service at our Fire Station. This is the first time a Paramedic ambulance will be stationed in our facility. Welcome aboard FASP!

Yesterday Wellspan hosted an EMS picnic at Good Samaritan Hospital. We are asking for the public’s assistance in spreading the word, contacting your legislators, and expressing your outrage that EMS was once again, forgotten in the debate over healthcare in this country. EMS ORGANIZATIONS ACROSS PENNSYLVANIA DENIED HAZARD PAY FOR EMPLOYEES Emergency Medical Services (EMS) agencies throughout the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania were notified by The Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) today that not a single ambulance pr...ovider in Pennsylvania received eligible grant funding for the DCED COVID-19 Hazard Pay Grant Program. On July 16, 2020, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced upwards of $50 Million in Hazard pay to front-line workers of the coronavirus pandemic through monies eligible for use from the CARES act. The legislation approved by the Pennsylvania congress and signed into law by the Governor in early July, provided an additional $3.00 per hour to front-line workers making less than $20.00. In his press conference in Harrisburg, Gov. Wolf highlighted the employees throughout the Commonwealth that are, putting their lives on the line for us. They work in hospitals, assisted living centers they drive ambulances and they interact with the public. While the legislation placed the application at the sole discretion of the employer, healthcare services, food manufacturing and retail, social assistance, and transit and security organizations were eligible for the grant. In remarks from the Ambulance Association of Pennsylvania, President Dean Bollendorf stated that this is, the latest frustration to address the financial, physical and emotional concerns facing EMS providers daily was the failure of the Department of Community and Economic Development to award NOT ONE EMS Agency who applied under the Governor's Hazard Pay Grant.

To keep their customers and workers safe Boscov's required everyone to wear a mask. Anyone who entered without a mask was offered one for a $1 donation. Many of their customers wanted to show their appreciation to public safety by donating more than that, regardless of whether they needed a mask. Thank you to both Boscov's and their customers for supporting us during this pandemic. We are honored to receive this $578.66 donation.

Mr. Charles Winklebleck had lost his hat yesterday. Today our providers, Lisa Mountz and Dennis Martin, got him a few new ones. Way to go Lisa and Dennis and thank you to Mr. Winklebleck for your service!

Our crews out at a heat emergency on a roof at Cornwall Elementary this afternoon. Great job everyone! Please be safe over this holiday weekend.

Thank you so much to Girl Scout Troops 71518 and 70430 for the donation of 16 cases of Girl Scout cookies! These young ladies are bringing joy to the frontline workers across America and we are grateful.
