Five Nineteen

Ah, Pinterest. It is my #1 go-to for inspiration. My pin boards are FULL of different projects, techniques, and new ideas! Today, I decided to share one of my favorites with you! This project is a great way to re-purpose an old cutting board and add rustic charm to your kitchen, coffee bar, living room, dining room - wherever! It would also make a great gift! *Pro-Tip*: If you don't have an old cutting board, you can use any other scrap wood you've got lying around - the ...possibilities are endless! *Also Pro-Tip*: Involve the kiddos! This is a great way to spend some outdoor quality time with your kids and maybe even teach them how to use the drill! Because who doesn't love using power tools? (Answer: Nobody.) So thankful for this guy! My husband, Steve (AKA Steve-o), is great about coming down to the workshop to walk me through new tools for all the projects I have in the works. Together we have learned that building our own picture frames is well...no bueno; the chop saw is workable, but scary ; a jigsaw is the best option if I intend to keep all 10 digits (and I do!); and using higher grit sandpaper on the belt sander gets the best results for leveling and shaping wood. After nearly 15 years of marriage he's still teaching me new things! We have never been more simpatico and his support is more than a girl could hope for!
