This weeks #FlyersWarrior spotlight of the week is defenseman David Nawrocki David served as an E-4 Specialist in the United States Army from 2001-2006. During David’s enlistment he served with Alpha and Bravo Companies of the 1st Battalion 15th Infantry Regiment 3rd Infantry Division. During those years David was deployed 3 times. Kuwait: Operation Desert Spring (2002). Iraq: Operation Iraq Freedom 1 (2003) and Iraq again as pa...rt of Operation Iraq Freedom 3 (2005). David started playing hockey at the age of 13. First with inhouse programs out of Face-off Circle, then club hockey with Warwick Twin Rinks, and then High School level with Central Bucks East. Once he separated from the military David began playing hockey again with old friends from his earlier years. In late 2018 I went and played in a High School alumni open hockey skate and ran into an old teammate of mine, Jim Young. (#12 with the Philadelphia Flyers Warriors) Jim was forth coming with all this information about a disabled veteran’s hockey team. So naturally after serving in the Army I have my reservations about anything new and exciting that had to do with Veterans. However he convinced me to come down to the Wells Fargo Center for a meet and great as well as the unveiling of the sponsorship for the team from the Philadelphia Flyers, which was a complete surprise. Ever since that day I have found this sense of a greater purpose again. Where it’s more than just about me. It’s about US!!!

Coach Marsh and the Watson brothers dropped off a custom bike for a young Flyers fan! Anyone who knows Coach Marsh knows his love for bike riding and believes every kid deserves a bike! Awesome work by the Flyers Alumni!

The #FlyersWarriors and Johnstown Generals are excited to announce that Steve Carlson of The Hanson Brothers will be in attendance next Saturday, and dropping the ceremonial first puck. The Flyers Warriors will take on the Johnstown Generals at War Memorial Areana, the filming site for the movie Slapshot. Game time is set for 11:45am.

One year ago today in Vegas we captured our first championship as a team who had been together for less than a year. We’ve grown tremendously since than and we are ready to defend our title when the time comes! #FlyersWarriors
