Today is Veterans Day! This holiday recognizes and honors all the military veterans who have served our county. Veterans Day is celebrated each year on November 11, the anniversary of the signing of the armistice that ended World War I. President Wilson proclaimed the first Armistice Day in 1919. And President Eisenhower changed the name to Veterans Day in 1954. Celebrations take place all across the world. Fodera & Long honors all of those men and women for their patriotism, and their willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good of our country.

Memorial Day is a holiday that commemorates and honors all of the men and women who died while serving our country. Memorial Day was originally founded to honor the soldiers who gave their lives in the Civil War, but it has since been expanded to include all wars involving the United States military. It has been recognized as a federal holiday since 1971. Traditional Memorial Day observances include visiting cemeteries and memorials as well as attending parades and dedication...s. A National Moment of Remembrance also occurs at 3 p.m. local time across the nation. Check out your local newspaper for events going on in your neighborhood to honor our nation's fallen soldiers. Memorial Day weekend is the unofficial kickoff to summer and is often celebrated with picnics, family gatherings, barbeques, weekend getaways, and sporting events. Happy Memorial Day weekend! Remember and Honor all those who have served and sacrificed for our freedom. God Bless America!
