PA Agriculture Department: FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: MAY 22,2018 DETAILS: Dog wardens will be canvassing in Forest County the week of May 3oth to ensure all dog owners have a current license & rabies vaccinations for their dogs.... The state Department of Agriculture reminds dog owner that a license is one of the best ways to ensure a lost dog is returned home safely. Under Pennsylvania law, all dogs 3 months or older must be licensed by January 1 of each year. The fee for an annual dog license is $6.50, or $8.50 if the animal is not spayed or neutered. Lifetime licenses are available for dogs that have permanent identification like a microchip or tattoo. Older adults and persons with disabilities may purchase a license for $4.50 for spayed or neutered dogs & $6.50 for others. Additionally, all dogs and non-feral cats(3 mos & older) must be vaccinated against rabies. Booster vaccinations must be administered periodically to maintain lifelong immunity. Violators can be cited with a maximum fine of $300 per violation plus court costs. Licenses may be purchased through Acting Treasurer,Stacey L.Barnes at the Forest County Courthouse, or on line at www.padoglicense.com. Any questions you can call 814-755-3536. . With the ever growing drug problems, especially opioids, Sheriff Wolfgang and District Attorney Barbara Litten have teamed up and created the Forest County Tip Line. If anyone has any information on drug trafficking or selling there is an anonymous tip line that can be called 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Monday Friday during normal business hours 9-4 there will be someone to answer your call, after business hours you can leave a message. Please call 814-755-2585 to help crack down on the ever growing drug problem in Forest County.
