More details to follow, but in all likelihood a parking ban will be put into effect tomorrow (Thursday) afternoon into Friday afternoon to help with snow removal.
Recycling pick up may be delayed today, but will still happen this week. Our crew is focusing on getting the streets safe. If they are unable to pick up today, they will be out tomorrow. We appreciate your patience.
Recycling pickup is cancelled this week because of the anticipated snow storm.
Parking ban has been lifted. Our Department of Public Works appreciates the 100% cooperation they received during the storm. They really feel appreciated. Your efforts helped their efforts and the results speak for themselves. The great teamwork between our residents and our crew is the reason why our streets are so clean. Thank you everyone, Mayor Tuzinski. P.S. only 46 days until Spring!
In anticipation of an impending storm, a parking ban will be instituted in the Borough of Forty Fort. The parking ban will be in effect from 5 pm, Sunday January 31st, 2021 until 5 pm, Tuesday, February 2nd at 5 pm. Vehicles not removed from the affected roadways during the parking ban may be subject to ticketing and towing. The cooperation our Public Works crew received during the large storm in December made a huge difference and was greatly appreciated. Parking will be... prohibited along the following thoroughfares in the Borough of Forty Fort: Wyoming Avenue, Welles Street, entire length of River Street, Slocum Street, Shoemaker Street, Owen Street, Dennison Street and the entire length of Murray Street in anticipation of the winter storm. After 5 pm Tuesday afternoon, all restrictions will end, and residents may park as they normally do. Residents are asked to make every effort to remove vehicles from side streets and utilize their driveways as much as possible. Residents are also asked to help emergency services personnel by assisting in clearing a three-foot circle around any fire hydrants near their home. As a significant amount of snow is anticipated, it is vitally important that as many vehicles as possible be kept off of the streets in the Borough. Neighbors who have spare driveway space are asked to share that space with their neighbors, if possible, in order to get cars off of the streets. Residents are also reminded that shoveling or blowing snow into the roadway is strictly prohibited. Residents are also asked to make every effort not to deposit snow onto tree lawns as it is prohibited by ordinance and has the potential to cause roadway passage restrictions. Questions may be directed to Mayor Andy Tuzinski at 570-760-1255. See more

One of the more traditional roles of a mayor is to act as the spokesman for the community. In that vein, I wish to commend the efforts of the Polling officials in Forty Fort who worked so hard today to ensure that everyone's voices were heard. I can assure everyone in the community that the delays and issues that happened today occurred because of circumstances not under the control of these dedicated individuals. They may not have been part of the cause of the problems, ho...wever they certainly were the overwhelming part of the solution. They persevered, adapted and overcame not being given the proper information and/or tools to do their jobs, and in doing so made sure everyone was able to cast their ballot. I spoke to people in charge of each of the three polling places in town and could tell how upset these dedicated individuals were in the delays and the problems. They took these problems personally even though the issues were not of their doing. Hats off to all of them for making sure things worked- Mayor Andy Tuzinski

Pet Owners: Please be responsible pet owners & ensure that your pets cannot escape & risk getting hit by a car & possibly causing a serious car accident due to ...it! Today, a kind citizen rescued a large dog from a sure death on busy Wyoming Ave. Cars were dodging her nearly causing an accident. She brought her to the Borough Bldg. & my co-worker & I were enroute to Blue Chip Rescue when, thanks to social media posts that I had posted, the owners were located. I realize that things happen & some pets are real escape artists, but this particular case is a repeat offender! Let's do better people...fix your gates, secure your doors, whatever it takes to protect your pets! Rant over.... See more
Thank you to the Forty Fort Lions Club for undertaking this project.
