We were excited to be invited to participate in the Virtual Community Resource Forum hosted by community partner, Child Guidance Resource Centers and Re-Elect Judge Christopher R. Mattox to share about our services and programs. The forum was an excellent opportunity to not only connect with other community partners, but to identify programs that could meet the needs of the families we serve. It is exciting to see the innovativeness that each organization has adapted in order to stay connected and in touch! Thank you for trusting Foundations Behavioral Health to serve the needs of the children and families in our communities.

Our team was excited to bring back the annual Spring Basketball Tournament! It was the perfect day for our residents to be outside on the courts having fun playing pick-up games with the each other and the staff. Thanks to Ms. Abigail and the clinical team for organizing such a fun event for our kids. The kids created signs to represent their cottages, there were announcers, music, drums and, of course, water to keep everyone well hydrated! It was the perfect day to be outside and get some exercise in, all while having a great time! Thank you to all of our staff who participated and for all the work that went into making this a fun day for everyone!

Meet our Social Worker and Intake Coordinator for The LifeWorks Schools, Rachel! Rachel has been a Social Worker since 2007 and has been with us for just over eight years. Currently the Intake Coordinator and School District Liaison for the LifeWorks Schools, Rachel shares, "I love being a child and adolescent Social Worker because I enjoy working with the family unit, seeing the positives changes and providing coordination of care across various settings. LifeWorks is the p...erfect fit for me because my passion for mental health and education meet under one roof. I was initially drawn to the social work field because I enjoy supporting families as they navigate through complex systems to help their children and the strength-based approach to our practice. The biggest reward is watching the students thrive and achieve their goals." Thank you, Rachel, for the support you provide our students and their families as they work towards achieving their academic goals! #SocialWorkersAreEssential See more

While it's tough to see children struggle around the holidays, these letters to Santa may actually be a good outlet for them to process some of their complicated feelings about the events of the year. If your child is a little old for Santa or you're just looking for other ways to use journaling as a tool for processing, check out this article from Verywell Family: http://bit.ly/JournalingforKidsMentalHealth.

It's that time of the year again! The Foundations Giving Tree is a cherished annual tradition as our way to bring holiday cheer and put smiles on our residents' faces. The tree is filled with all the trimmings and wishes written on ornaments by our residents who reside with us on campus. Staff have the opportunity to pick an ornament and purchase a wish item listed on the ornament that will be gifted to that child. The outpouring of love and generosity from our staff is overwhelming and the smiles it brings to our kids' faces is priceless! We thank the staff from the Expressive Therapy Department for continuing with this heart-warming tradition!

Bullying can start while children are still quite young, so it's never too early to discuss the topic in age-appropriate terms. In honor of National Stop Bullying Day, you can watch this short video from Sesame Street in Communities with your child and use the follow up questions to help them understand what bullying looks like and what they should do if they witness it happening. #StopBullying
