MEET THE HORSES: Dom, as he is fondly known, is a 2014 FL bred Off Track Thoroughbred. (JC: Dominick’s Dream). He had 20 starts, including 1 win, in his racing career at Gulfstream (FL) and Parx (PA) before retiring in May 2018. Dom arrived at FMF in August of 2019 through Kate Goldenberg and Safe Haven Thoroughbred Rescue, Inc. He was to be a sale project, a joint venture for Jimmy Soley and Kenn Marash, but Jimmy fell in love. Look for Dom to appear in his first show in his new career this spring/summer.

Thank you to all who have asked our horse with a fever is now quite well and quarantine has been lifted. On Thursday April 8, on a routine vet visit for spring shots, all horse temperatures were taken before shots were administered. One horse (Horse A), had a temperature of 101.8. He had no symptoms that he was ill. He had been ridden that morning, had been eating and drinking normally, and had no change in normal behavior. Following veterinary advice, all horses on th...e property were to have temperatures taken twice a day until the cause of fever was determined. Friday morning Horse A had a normal temperature, but that evening had a temperature of 103.5. Blood was drawn from Horse A for testing. No other horses had a temperature or showed any signs of illness. At this point, following veterinary advise, all horses on the property were put in quarantine. Proper quarantine protocol, as advised by the treating veterinarian, began. Saturday blood results came back showing no infection and that all organ functions were normal, but that Horse A was fighting a low-grade virus. His temperature in the morning was normal but at evening check it was 103.2. Sunday and Monday his temperature was normal at morning and evening checks. On Monday he had a nasal swab taken to test for any contagious virus. No other horses on the property have a fever or show any signs or illness. Tuesday the nasal swab result came back negative and quarantine was lifted. We have are very excited to announce that we have moved! We are now located at Jentri Stables in Furlong PA where there are 2 large outdoor arenas, 2 indoor arenas, and lots of turn out. Pictures to follow shortly .....
