Offertory - April 19, 2020 Brian Ming Chu, bass Darin Kelly, trumpet Andrew Senn, organ... The Trumpet Shall Sound (from The Messiah) - G. F. Handel Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. The trumpet shall sound and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Spem in Alium Offertory - March 17, 2019. This is the premier performance of Spem in Alium, a new composition by Nick Lombardelli of The Choir of First Presbyt...erian Church. Nick studied jazz and composition at the University of the Arts. At the request of Andrew Senn, Nick composed the setting of Spem in Alium (latin for Hope in any other) in his own harmonic language cast for standard SATB choir and organ. The only known setting of this particular text is by Thomas Tallis (c. 1570). Spem in alium, nunquam habui Praeter in te, Deus Israel, Qui irasceris et propitius eris et omnia peccata hominum in tribulatione dimittis. Domine Deus, Creator caeli et terrae, respice humilitatem nostrum. I have never put my hope in any other but in Thee, God of Israel, who canst show both wrath and graciousness, and who absolves all the sins of man in suffering. Lord God, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Regard our humility.

Anthem, February 24, 2019 If ye be risen again with Christ seek those things which are above where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection ...on heavenly things and not on earthly things; for ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Whensoever Christ, which is our life, shall show himself, then shall we also appear with him in glory. So be it. See more
