Thank you @helloneighborhq for starting their Reimagine Day with breath work and yoga nidra. Yvette Shipman led an excellent practice. #brahmaripranayama #yoganidra
My latest post is about prepping for and practicing after my first shot. Lymphatic practices are fantastic anytime!
While teaching clients through video, about 1% of my time is spent making sure their foot doesn’t land on a cat. While teaching clients through video, about 1% of my time is spent making sure their foot doesn’t land on a cat.
Today i recorded my final video in my online series. I’ve been teaching to this room for one year. My plants know more than they ever wanted to know about standing postures. #yogaonline #yogapgh

Below is the Weekly Reflection from my Video Series. I hope it inspires a positive outlook and positive changes. --- Often we think of New Year’s Resolutions as actions we’d like to incorporate into our days. We can also choose ideas and philosophies we’d like to incorporate into our thoughts. Especially when attempting to develop a new habit, new thoughts can lead to new actions. A chapter in Massimo Pigliucci’s How to Be a Stoic provides six aphorisms for using Stoic philos...ophy for our benefit. His helpful suggestions seem primed for end-of-year reflection. Be an Agent, not a Patient Stoic principles can help us reclaim our full agency by enabling us to see what we can and cannot control. When you accept what you can’t change, you can focus on what you can. Get Good at Being an Agent A good agent aligns their values, preferences, goals, deliberations, and actions. If the alignment is incomplete, incoherent, or weak, you are paralyzed no matter what. Focus on Abilities, not Disabilities Ignorance, or worse, self-deception about our own abilities can be very dangerous. We need to keep an up-to-date and accurate account about what is possible for us. Develop a Life Plan Make a habit of reflecting on what is important to us, and also on the best way to achieve it. We should continually revise our plan according to our changing circumstances and abilities. Strive for Internal Harmony After reflecting on ways we’ve become a good agent, we can incorporate our agencies, abilities, circumstances, and our life plan to suit us and those around us. Beware of Brick Walls Know when to quit: neither a minute too soon nor a minute too late. This requires us to keep tabs on our abilities throughout life. Our values and goals also allow us to determine which brick walls we need to tear down.
That’s a wrap for 2020! After producing 80 hours of yoga videos and turning my dining room into a video set every week, I’m taking a break. Thank you to all who have supported this subscription, both financially and with your practice. And extra thanks to Kristin who didn’t mind me turning our 1st floor into this studio-lighting and sound-baffled mess every Tuesday and Wednesday. All new videos starting New Year’s Day 2021.... . . . #pghyoga #yogaonline #pittsburghyoga See more

Ingredients to structure your 108 sun salutations: 1) Metronome 2) 86-minute playlist 3) Yoga mat... Step 1: Set metronome to 60 beats per minute. Step 2: With four second inhales and exhales, my sun salutations last 48 seconds. When I multiply by 108, then divide by 60, I get about 86 minutes. So I make a playlist that long. Step 3: Press 'play' and let the metronome guide your breathing as you practice your salutations. When my playlist is done, I know I've completed 108 salutes! I like doing my SS this way because I don't have to count and can use the time as a breathing and meditation practice.
We all need ways to cultivate calm. I'm sharing this full-length yoga practice from my video subscription in hopes it helps decelerate your nervous system. If you sign up for my Video Subscription series before Thanksgiving, you'll receive the December videos free! I'm suspending payments in December to present a "best of" series to all my subscribers. Details about the subscription below and at my website. Thank you and stay well.
My client gifts are ready! I’ve also mailed a few. One of the positives this year is the number of clients who rebooted their sessions with me from places like Boston and New York. It’s been great for me to reconnect with those that have moved. Thank you all. . . . #pghyoga #yogateacher #pittsburghyoga
Mouth-breathing causes the body to lose 40% more water than breathing through the nose! Thank you to Tepper CMU for having me teach ‘Breathing and Movement Frameworks: How Yoga can Help De-Stress, Improve our Immune System, and Keep our Hearts Healthy’ to their students today. We focused on nose breathing into the belly for optimum health.
#smallbusinesssaturday included a tree from Sestili Nursery, orders from @whitewhalebks and @una_biologicals, and a meditation subscription from @usernamecassie! #buylocally #om #globally
Midweek HIIT self-practice thanks to @vigorous1 and @fitness6.0
