For those with the "equipment" to test this, let us know if it proves true. Carolina allspice is colloquially known as the bubby bush a politer version of ‘booby bush’ as it was customary for women to crush the flowers and place them in their cleavage, with bodily warmth releasing the flowers’ scent over the course of the day.

On a daily walk I noticed these on the forsythia bushes along the ridge. Looked it up. Stem galls (Phomopsis) on stems of forsythia. From Penn State (https://e...xtension.psu.edu/forsythia-diseases) Uncertain causes. Crown gall, the fungus Phomopsis, and genetic abnormality have been blamed for this disease but none has been conclusively proven to be the cause. It is possible that all three can cause galls. Prune infected branches. Disinfest the pruning shears thoroughly after use. See more
