Franklin County Sheriff’s Office along with GLOCK District Mgr Bob Gogel hosted a GLOCK pistol presentation and demonstration. The Expo also included vendors from Atlantic Tactical, Blauer, GLOCK, Officer Store, Pittsburgh Public Safety and Surefire. Local and State Law Enforcement Agencies were invited to attend and also had the opportunity for a hands on experience with the new Red Dot Optics on the G43X MOS & G48 MOS with light rail. Refreshments were provided along with vendor prizes and giveaways. The professionalism and teamwork between law enforcement and our vendors was amazing and made for an excellent training day for all in attendance.

Franklin County Deputy Kayla along with Greencastle Emergency Services assisted with school drills. These exercises prepare staff and students for response in the event of an emergency and provide the local responders with a familiarity of the building and grounds.

A major phone outage is affecting 9-1-1 emergency and non-emergency lines in Franklin, Adams and Cumberland Counties. TEXT to 9-1-1 is still available in Franklin County.

UPDATE ON FINAL PISTOL PERMITS: Our technicians have been working tirelessly to fix the equipment issues. We are now up and running for final pistol permits. We continue to accept new/renewal applications. Just a reminder all county offices will be closed Monday, January 18th for Martin Luther King Day.... Beginning Tuesday, January 19 through Friday, January 22, our expended hours for issuing permits will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
