It is with heavy heart that we share in announcing the passing of our Brother Rider, Dave Vincent. Dave wore several hats in his tenure as an ALR, including past Director of Region 5. May his soul rest in peace, may God grant Dave's family with sufficient comfort to assist them in their time of grief and may Dave's spirit guide the ALR safely through the rest of our individual journeys

Another outstanding event is in the books. In spite of the fact that we do this because of someone going through hard times, the positive response, I'm sure, helps to "take the edge off", at least for a little while. Sincere thanks to all involved in helping make this year's ride a success!
This Saturday Aug.17

Tomorrow morning, everyone! It's set to be a beautiful day, and there's no better feeling than helping those who could use a little support, like a patient at ...the VA - they'll be anxiously awaiting the ride's arrival to hear the thunder and see the riders coming together to support our Forgotten Warriors. A giant THANK YOU to all of this year's competitors in our soup cook-off! Who won? Everybody won, because each entry generated funds and interest in our event! Having sampled each entry, everyone made an awesome product and I know that all of the voters had their work cut out in making a decision. Photos are on the way...
Hey, everybody... it's almost time! Soup cook-off tomorrow and we're EXCITED!! If you know someone who may want to enter and didn't pre-register, not to worry...tell them to bring their entry and registration fee to the Freeland American Legion by 11am. Not cooking? No problem! A $5 entry fee gets you unlimited tastings and a ballot to vote for your favorite. See you tomorrow!!
Soup cook-off this Sunday! It has been advertised that the deadline to register is today, but we still have spots available for entrants. Anyone wishing to enter a soup (or chili) for the competition needs to come to the Freeland American Legion by 11am on Sunday with their entry HOT and in it's own vessel. The public is invited to come and judge the entries. Competition entry fee is $10, which includes one judging pass. The fee to taste and judge is $5. Come on out and enjoy a tasty competition! Tickets for our Hunter's Special package will be available for purchase, as well!
American Legion Riders Christmas Party!
It's that time of year again. We had a great turnout last year, and we all wanted more! Due to location logistics, we must limit the home chef category to the first 40 entrants. Restaurant/caterers are also welcome again this year. The contest is advertised as a "soup" cookoff, but we accept chili entrants, as well. Here's how to enter: PM us on this page, sign up at the Freeland Legion, contact the number listed on this ad, or contact any Freeland American Legion Rider. Hurry, because the spots are sure to fill up fast. Remember...you don't have to be an entrant to be a taster - this entire event (entrants, tasters, and judges) is open to the public. Good luck to all interested, and we look forward to seeing last year's entrants again!

Another great fundraiser! Fantastic group of people.Check it out!
And none of it would have been possible without the tireless efforts of these people surrounding Ashley and her family. This dedicated group of Legion Riders is absolutely amazing! There are a few missing from the photo because they were manning posts when it was taken, but they know who they are, and so do the folks who attended. I can't thank you all enough for the efforts that you made to create such a successful event. I'm truly honored to be working with you all! - Rob
We had a great day on Saturday for our annual Emilio Ranieri Memorial Ride! The response from the community shows that this area is still at the top of the list when it comes to being there to help with our causes. Thanks to everyone who came out to help us brighten the day for Ashley. The list of local merchants who contributed is WAY too long to mention everyone in print here, but they were all mentioned during the event, and we hope everyone stops by to patronize their shops. Way to go, everyone!
Today is the day! Come on out for our annual Emilio Ranieri Memorial Ride. This year, our ride benefits a local 12 year old young lady who could use some help right now due to a medical issue. Look at these tricky trays, over 100!! All great stuff. Food, beverages, a 50/50 drawing, and entertainment after the ride. Ride registration 10-noon. This event is open to the public. Ride costs $15/Rider and $10/passenger. Automobiles welcome, too! Just want to enjoy the event at the Legion? A $10 donation gets you there! Thanks to all for your support
Over 80 Tricky trays and still coming, including Grand prizes like an American Honey Standing Cooler, $300 Lenox Collection and $130 Splash Magic Campground Gift Certificate! Saturday August 18th. Open to public! Even if not joining in the ride...$10 for non riding entrance...Come eat, drink, and support a great cause!
Good morning! As of now, it looks like the radar is showing tomorrow to be the better day of the weekend, with chance of showers diminishing late morning/early afternoon. That said, the current plan is to run our event tomorrow. Notwithstanding any serious changes to the weather pattern, we hope to see you all tomorrow! Please share this message with your friends
Forgotten Warriors Run tomorrow morning. Registration from 10am-12noon at Freeland Freeland American Legion Riders Post 473. Run will ego to the VA hospital and end at the Flying Aces.
On July 11, the kitchen at the Freeland American Legion will reopen under new management. Come out and see the new menu, prepared by Chef Alex - you may recognize him from his previous experiences in local restaurants. Watch for advertisements and further announcements!
