William Jack Melville March 24, 2021 William Jack Melville, 83, of Greentown died Wednesday at home. His wife is the former Evonne Holman Melville, the couple had been together for 50 years.... Born in Newark NJ son of the late William and Rose Radin Melville. He was a United States Navy Veteran, where he was a helicopter Mechanic, having a force of 35 helicopters under his command. He was a diamond core driller, and an auto mechanic, most known from Corks and GS&J Auto Service. Jack loved cars, horserace tracks, most important was having a cold beer with friends, and busting chops. He was a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed. Especially by his grandchildren who named his grumpy grampy In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters Tina Melville; Terri Clemens; daughter in law Sandra Commeau Grandchildren Aimee, Joshua, and Samantha Clemens; James, Heather, and Annmarie Gitto; great grandchildren Jaclynn, Saige, and Bryson Duggan Clemens He was preceded in death by a son Glen Commeau and a grandson Zack Clemens. Graves Side services will be Saturday at 2:00PM in Pine Grove Cemetery Pine Grove Road S. Sterling A celebration of life will be at 4:00 PM at Renegades on Main St Newfoundland Arrangements by the Frey-Fetsock Funeral Home Inc.

Alan Joseph Toth March 22, 2021 Alan Joseph Toth, 72, of Newfoundland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 22, 2021.... Born July 18, 1948 in Rahway, New Jersey son of the late Alex and Frances Toth. He was a 1966 Graduate of Carteret High School and a 1995 Graduate of Kean University. Prior to retirement he was a teacher in the Carteret High School. He spent most of his life in Carteret New Jersey prior to moving to Newfoundland three years ago. Alan was an avid sports fan, he religiously followed Carteret baseball, football, and basketball as well as all the New York Sports Teams. He was a loving and caring brother and uncle who will be deeply missed. Surviving a brother Kenneth Toth and wife Darlene; nephews Kyle, Travis and Brett; great nephews Noah and Julian and his best friends Sammy and Atty. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.

Donald Januszewski February 20, 2021 Donald Januszewski, born April 18, 1948, owner and operator of Laurel Ridge Farms, a registered Pennsylvania State Preserved Farm, which raised Angus Beef Breeding Stock passed away at his home February 20, 2021. ... Don was a close friend of the Sanctuary Church community in Newfoundland, and was known to be a kind and giving individual. He loved raising his beef stock, attending farm shows, and hunting whitetail deer with many friends. Don was the son of Alex and Mary Ann Januszewski, and was born and raised on the farm he so dearly loved. His Grandparents were Felix and Mary Januszewski who immigrated to the United States in 1910, purchasing the farm in 1918, adding an additional farm in 1938. Funeral services will be on Friday February 26, 10am, at Sanctuary Church, 889 Main Street, Newfoundland.

Irene Lucy Samolewicz February 10, 2021 Irene Lucy Samolewicz, 88 of Newfoundland died Wednesday in Moses Taylor Hospital. Her husband is Eugene Samolewicz Sr.... Born January 7, 1933 in Brooklyn NY daughter of the late John and Maria Zalash Benoff, she was a beautician by trade, prior to retirement she was a junior accountant for Con ED. Irene was a den mother for cub scouts a member of the Community Women’s club and the Red Hat Society. She was a self-taught seamstress, having designed many of her kid’s clothes and polish costumes over the years, in addition she was a fabulous cook. She was everyone’s mother loved to babysit, had a heart of gold. She was raised by her sisters after her parents died when she was young. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Renee’ Langley her son Eugene Samolewicz Jr.; grandchildren Kimberly Forman and husband Jason; Tabitha Langley and Michael Langley and wife Ashley; great grandchildren Sofia Renee and Bella Marie Forman; sister Mary Siolek She was preceded in death by sisters Vera Bietka and Nettie Jackewich and brother George Benoff The funeral will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society

Carole (Dolly) Uriah February 6, 2021 Carole (Dolly) Uriah, of Greentown, PA. died Wednesday at home, peacefully in her sleep. She was the widow of Robert (Butch) Uriah, who passed away in May 2019.... Born in Queens, NY, daughter of the late Lester & Edna Penney (nee Bossong). Sister to the late Lorraine Koenig Steiner. She spent most of her life living on Long Island, NY and has spent the last twenty years a resident of PA. She had many career's and her last was as gift shop attendant at Cove Haven Resort, where she enjoyed getting to know the many guests over the last twenty years and enjoyed making many long lasting friendships with guests and fellow colleagues. Her favorite hobby was people. She loved meeting new people and really getting to know them. Having friends over for dinner and feeding them was her favorite thing to do. She used to say she had a very small family so she cherished them and her friends and tried to be the best friend she could. She is survived by a daughter Debbie Allen and husband, Jim. Daughter Susan and grandsons' James and Steven. Niece Linda Falco and husband Joe and family, Nephew Peter Koenig and wife Rosita and family and former son-in-law Jim and wife Cora Pollock. No funeral services per her request, but a memorial will be planned in the future.
