Anyone else waiting for summer time and swimming pool? The Wildwood Swimming Pool was located off of Wildwood Road at the eastern edge of North Park in Town of McCandless, Allegheny County, PA. The property is now residential housing. Photo shows two structures and snow-covered ground.

North Park was created in 1927 on recommendation of Allegheny County Commissioner Edward V. Babcock. As a wealthy businessman, Babcock had purchased farmland for a family summer home and had come to love the beauty of the area.

When was the last time a turkey crossed through your yard? Hard to believe that their populations could ever dwindle, but wild turkeys were considered a natural crop that could be taken whenever in colonial PA. By the 1800s wild turkeys were only found in small numbers.
