At the south end of the Struble Trail, across a road, is Kardon Park.... for now. The Borough of Downingtown is locked in a long running legal battle with a par...k advocacy group over selling land for retail development. In the meantime the half mile trail winds through fields and along ponds, and adding greenery and a nice path to Downingtown. You can guess what side I come down on. See more

This appeared in today's Daily Local News. Now is the time to write, email, and call your borough council rep to say we want our park put back into shape. They're purposefully neglected it for the past 7+ years by not mowing, not maintaining the mill race, letting cattails and weeds take over the ponds, and they put up those false, misleading signs to keep people from enjoying the park (the park is NOT unsafe). They need to repair the mess they made in Kardon Park WITHOUT raising taxes.

For some reason, all the videos and most of the photos are not in sequesnce or as I had posted them. Some photos and videos are below posts that were done a long time ago. This photo was supposed to be last. There had been a few moments of full sunlight, but this is what the sky looked like as I left. A gray sky with a small patch of blue surrounded by a silver ribbon.

I spent about a minute and a half trying to videotape this bird. I was quite far away and couldn’t really see the camouflaged bird on the downed tree with weeds all around it. My videos show nothing, I was lucky with just one chance photo. What is it? It’s a Sparrow! Perhaps a Song Sparrow.
