The officers and members of Friendship Fire Company would like to Thank our Brothers and Sisters from Southern Cove VFC for their generous support, hospitality, and hard work this past weekend during the Public Dinner held at their Station to help us fundraise for our boiler system. Numerous members from both our stations spent many hours not only over the past weekend, but in the preparation leading up to make sure everything went off without a hitch. The teamwork and communication between our departments to make everything seem to go flawless is a testament to the relationship between department members. Pickup day at the hall will be Friday Dec 18th from 3-6pm and Saturday Dec 19th from 12 noon-3pm.

Dave Zeek was a great friend, mentor, instructor, and irreplaceable asset to the community he served. Please join us in keeping Dave’s family and friends in your prayers as they navigate this difficult time. Rest In Peace Dave, we’ll take it from here.

At 15:24 hrs 10/25/2020 - Friendship Fire Company was alerted by Blair County 911 center of a reported motor vehicle accident in the area of 2004 PLUM CREEK RD, TAYLOR TWP WEITZEL HILL RD / WOODBURY PIKE involving a truck and trailer hauling a piece of heavy equipment. The equipment was reported to have caught the overhead wires and have came off the trailer onto the side of the roadway. Crews arrived on scene finding a track hoe rolled over on the side of the roadway and ene...rgized power lines over the truck. The driver was able to get out and away from the truck safely before crews arrived. Crews from station 60 and Station 40 shut down traffic while power crews worked to move lines so the equipment could be rolled back over and removed. A big thanks goes out Station 40 for helping with traffic control and to the power crew from REA for the quick response and to the guys who helped remove the equipment from the roadway. Crews cleared the scene after the equipment was removed and power line crews took over closing the road and repairing the lines. Station 60 and 40 returned in service without incident or injury to any personnel. See more

Our next raffle is set for November 21st. Tickets are $20.00 we are giving away cash prizes instead of guns due to the high demand and long wait times for guns. If you choose to take your money to Base Camp Guns and purchase a gun Paul Cunningham will be glad to help you with your purchase. If anyone is interested in tickets all Friendship Fire Company members have tickets or message on here and we can set something up to meet for tickets.

Today we had to do Fire Prevention a completely new way. Do to Covid we could not do are normal presentation at the Spring cove elementary School with the schoo...ls safety rules in place. But we didn't went the kids to go with out there fire safety. So the Three fire departments in the Spring cove School District Friendship , Freedom & Martinsburg presented the principle today with fire helmets and fire prevention activity and coloring books for the children that teach fire prevention also a DVD a cartoon version of fire prevention that the characters go through all the same things that we go through when we do our presentation. So we are teaching fire safety.... SAFELY Hopefully Next year things will be back to normal. See more

At 17:43:13 Hours 8/25/2020 Station 60 was alerted by Blair County 911 center of a motor vehicle accident involving a structure at 322 Spring Plaza Roaring Spring Borough. Chief 60 arrived on scene assuming command and found the vehicle had already been pulled out of the structure and the driver was inside the business. Crews arrived on scene shortly after and did an assessment of the stability of the structure and found that a large portion of the load bearing wall was taken... out by the crash and the building would need to be reinforced and sured up until construction crews could make the necessary repairs to the structure. Crews used a vast array of knowledge and tools to complete the task including 6x6 wood beams, wedges, nails, and gusset plates to form a brace to transfer the load of the roof back to the ground. Excellent job by everyone involved, and the driver was checked by Amed and cleared. See more

Winners from the Spring Gun Raffle drawing today. Congrats to the winners and thank you for your support! A big Thank you to Allen Garman for donating all of his winnings back to the fire company!

If anyone is wanting to buy gun raffle tickets someone will be available tonight from 6-8pm at the firehall. Please stop by, tickets are 20.00 and the drawing will be next Saturday August 1st via Facebook Live.

We currently have people asking about why we can’t serve a drive thru turkey dinner with our Facebook live gun raffle being held on August 1st. We currently have over 50 tickets still not sold. The food alone costs us over 2,000.00 and right now as it stands if we do that we will lose money on this raffle. We only sell 600 tickets and the guns have to be paid for and they cost over 10,000.00 so that leaves us with about 1,000.00 profit. If we do a meal we will definitely lose... money, at that point we would be better off to refund everyone’s money and cancel the raffle. With all the restrictions in the state our hands are tied and we can not have a normal raffle. We are in this to make a profit not lose money. Our main goal is to keep our doors open to serve our community. Thank you for supporting us and understanding during this difficult time. See more
