Friends of Saylor Grove Wetland

Saturday, MAY 15th , is LOVE YOUR PARK Day. Please join the Friends of Saylor Grove Wetland, 10:00 am Noon, at SAYLOR GROVE (at the corner of Rittenhouse Street & Wissahickon Ave.) to help tidy up our neighborhood park. We’ll provide the tools, leaf bags, glovesAND coffee & donuts (individually wrapped, of course). We also will have a native plant sale and a bird walk/talk at 10:30 am. We had our most successful Love Your Park day yet, masks and all! Thanks to all the volunteers who turned out to love our little wetland. Here are some photos from the day. (Thanks, Sandy!) Also, we invite you to a brief meeting of the Friends of Saylor Grove Steering Committee this Saturday, Nov. 21, at 3 pm. Please don’t be shywe need additional members with good ideas willing to help work to make them happen. So if you would like to get more involved, join us at the family sculpture near the corner of Wissahickon and Lincoln Drive. Wear a mask. We will observe the recommended procedures for having a safe meeting.

Thanks to steering committee member Kim Cook, we got a grant of almost 100 native plants from Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve. Thank you! Kim has been working hard to get them in the ground before the cold sets in. Thank you, too!
