We could not be more excited about our new vehicle from Toyota of Scranton! Not only do we have a brand new car, but it is wrapped with our logo and contact information! This is sure to help us spread the word about our mission and services in a time when so many people may need help for the first time. We truly cannot thank Toyota of Scranton enough for this most generous and thoughtful donation. If you see us around town, make sure to give us a wave!
Our Family to Family Christmas food giveaway is now closed. We have run out of supplies just in time for the snow. We’d like to thank everyone who came out and helped us distribute the food so quickly. In anticipation of the snow, Friends of the Poor will be closed tomorrow, Thursday 12/17 and will reopen Friday 12/18. Thank you!
IMPORTANT UPDATE!! TODAY, WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 16! The Friends of the Poor/Family to Family Christmas Food Basket distribution will be held today, Wednesday, December 16, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Scranton High School, 63 Mike Munchak Way, Scranton.
Thank you to our friends at DePietro's Pharmacy for their continued support! We are so grateful to be surrounded by such caring and dedicated community members who always make sure we have what we need to serve the most vulnerable among us!
Our Family to Family Christmas Drive-Thru Distribution will continue as planned this Wednesday, December 16th at Scranton High School beginning at 10AM. We will distribute as much food as we can before the snow begins to fall heavily. We feel this is the best decision we can make at this time, as unfortunately there is no way for us to move the event and still hold it in time for Christmas. We will continue to monitor the weather and announce any decisions we make regarding the event here and on the Family to Family page. Linda Mauro Robeson
