For Immediate Release: March 12th, 2020 The Rugby PA Board of Directors has voted to follow the decision of the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Associatio...n (PIAA) and suspend all competitions for two weeks. This decision was based on the growing concerns over the spread of the COVID-19 virus, and the health and safety of all participants and volunteers. The situation will be continued to be monitored, and a decision on the remaining portion of the spring schedule will be made. Teams, players, and coaches are encouraged to follow the guidance, direction, and policies of the CDC, state and local government, and school districts in determining whether and how to continue player training and practices.

Due to the additional 2 inches of snow accumulated over night, the 2019 Frostbite Tournament is cancelled. We will resume practice Tuesday night from 6-8pm at the High School football practice fields.

Official statement from tournament directors: Thank you for your patience as we evaluated the weather and its impact on the 2019 Frostbite Rugby Tournament. After much deliberation, we have decided to cancel the entire event scheduled for March 2-3, 2019. This was a difficult decision, however we wanted to make sure to communicate in a timely manner to minimize the inconvenience for teams and families. This decision was based on several key factors: Heavier than expected s...nowfall overnight fields unplayable and the parking lots unplowed The potential for additional ice and snow accumulation on Saturday night into Sunday morning and the even bigger pending storm coming Sunday afternoon. The safety of players, spectators, and officials based on unsafe field conditions The Frostbite Tournament committee recognizes the time and money spent by teams and families to pursue our event. To that end, we will evaluate where we are and start the refunding process within the next 14 to 21 business days. See more
